A World of Possibility

Few things beat that embarrassingly giddy, and excited feeling you get when a new book arrives, as if a world of possibility unfolds before you. The same goes, I think, for records and video games and used to be the case for DVDs and VHSs.

I’m still finishing Letters to Milena by Kafka, but I might fit in a story here and there by Chekhov, who is supposed to be a pretty good Russian realist author (whatever that means). Will update you.

On Pancakes

If there’s one thing I enjoy on a weekend morning, it’s pancakes (vegan for me), and to an extent, brunch generally, both the consumption and the making of the meal, not to mention the laziness of getting up a little later than normal to eat. Moreover, the process of making a thing, bringing it to fruition (into existence) is edifying in its way, delighting in the fruit of one’s work. Taking ingredients and preparing them in the right way to come out with something edible. Not to mention, lazy pancakes in bed with cartoons or a book and a strong espresso is not a bad way to start the morning. Hungry yet?
